Pain and numbness in the thumb and first two fingers. Pain is worse at night and the patient keeps shaking their hand due to pain. This pain is due to compression of the median nerve in the hand.
Diagnosis
  • Clinical examination is very important
  • Sometimes Nerve conduction tests may be required
Treatment
  • Medicines may give some relief
  • A nerve block injection in the wrist is very useful.
  • Sometimes surgery may be required
